My Advice On Trips To The Tropics
Spring is the time to plan your summer vacation and if you are anything like me, you want to head somewhere warm and tropical! With that in mind, here are some tips that you should consider before flying off to the Caribbean.
Time Of Year
This tip tops the tropical vacations list because the main reason we go down there is for the weather! You can look at weather trends on line for different times of the year, as well as check with your travel agent on when the best time to go is. You also need to be mindful of how cold it gets at night during the winter months as this can cause you to have to pack more clothes!
Where and How Much
I will assume here that you are a new traveler and have not visited the tropics before. If that’s you, then realize that most places will be paradise in your eyes. Since that is the case, go to a cheaper location and work your way up in future years. An example would be going to Cancun instead of the Caymans and you can save hundreds of dollars.
One strategy for saving money is to visit a spot in the Tropics that are not as well known, but quickly growing in popularity. Many spots like this will offer steep discounts to get your business. Punta Cana is one of these places.
Accommodations
As far as I am concerned, “all inclusive” resorts are where the best value is. An all inclusive plan will most importantly include all you can eat and all you can drink. This means no hassles and you can more easily stay within a budget. Just be sure to stay at one of the higher rated resorts where the food is usually better and the drinks of the premium sort!
Stay Away From The Local Water
I know you have heard to never drink the water in Mexico, but really you should apply that advice to anywhere you go outside of the United States. You just don’t want to take a chance on ruining your vacation with bowel problems. Just find bottled water and you are all good.
Best of all, just have fun! Take your trip and forget about your laptop and cell phone. You will find that a trip to warmer latitudes will refresh and rejuvenate you months to come. And when that wears off, you can just go back again!
