Internet Marketing: The Central Component

November 30th, 2009 by travelwell

When you hear the term “internet marketing“, what do you think of?

For many, that term conjures thoughts of websites or spamming or search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing. For others, it’s all about graphical design, writing fancy code or even affiliate programs. All of those answers correct, but the essence of internet marketing is much simpler.

At its core, internet marketing is about these things:

* Understanding the target market to which the product/service/cause you’re marketing will appeal
* Determining exactly how your target market interacts with the internet
* Positioning your content on the internet to attract the attention of your target market
* Collecting information about your target market (also known as “leads”) for follow-up and conversion into sales
* Design of offers or incentives to induce the desired actions from your leads

Since there is insufficient space in this article to give all of these topics adequate attention, let’s focus on just one specific topic with the realm of internet marketing: Email Marketing.

My best payoff has always come by focusing on permission-based email marketing. Permission-based email marketing refers to the practice of collecting information (including email addresses) from website visitors and communicating with them via e-mail with their direct consent. The “permission” aspect of permission-based email marketing is what separates legitimate email marketers from the spammers that everyone despises.

How Prescription Medicine Discount Programs Assist Americans Save Dollars

November 29th, 2009 by travelwell

Everybody is eligible to be given prescription medicine at a negotiated price regardless of their earnings, age or pre-existing conditions. There is a innovative prescription discount card available to anyone that requests it, and it is free of charge! Access to medical care and rx access is available too.  For too long, individuals with no healthcare insurance have been paying full retail cost for their medicines however by means of this novel program they will now have an advocate on their side. Prescription help is available.

There are numerous organizations that have programs to diminish the price tag of prescription drugs to those patients with no insurance policies. This has developed into quite an occasion to save health care dollars including cardholders in all 50 states. By and large, these prescription medication discount cards are established at over 35 ,000 community and nationwide pharmacies.

Several non-profit companies and clinics hand out the cards as a means to satisfy a need and help out their community through tough times. The discount cards have been distributed to local United Way agencies, clinics, doctor offices and pharmacies in addition to district community health centers. These cards are not insurance, but they can drive down the price of your drugs by up to 80  percent or more. The patient just presents their card to the pharmacy then they are sure that they will pay either the negotiated cost or the pharmacy’s retail cost, whichever is lower.

How not to get backlinks

November 28th, 2009 by travelwell

backlinks

Hmmmm, this is a big subject and I want to emphasise it’s not an exact science. But here is what I have learned in my work at the Backlinks clinic:

Authority – basics

The more authority your web pages have the better you will rank on Google. Authority means that searchers trust you and your content. The great news is that authorities trusted by people are also recognised as trustworthy by Google. A great example is the .edu and .gov domain extensions. These domains imply they are credible sources of information and it’s an established fact that as far as Google is concerned backlinks from these web addresses to your web pages will contribute authority to your web pages. Another good example is Wikipedia as the contents here are mostly contributed to by tribes of people as opposed to a single source.

So it follows that authority is largely influenced by the source of your backlinks and if authoritative web pages link to your web pages then you inherit their authority and in the eyes of Google you become more authoritative and hence the trust in your site by Google goes up.

How Google declares what is and isn’t authoritative is kept secret for solid reasons and falls in line with Google’s philosophy of “Do no evil”. The last thing the Internet needs is someone manipulating the methods that Google uses in its efforts to try and bring some order to probably the most important technological asset of this period in history.

why small business erp might save your business

small business erp

Companies need effective process, the focus of leadership and structure that can adapt to enable the company to grow safely as a massive 55% of businesses fail in their first five years of existence. The observers offer banal opinions as to why this happens. I continuosly observe three key reasons why this tragedy happens so often and to so many individuals with different experience, education and knowledge.

The first reason is lack of market comprehension.

Refusal to look at the water ahead. For example Individuals have the concept, build the product and then sit back and wait for the market to flock and purchase. In information age there is no excuse for lack of research prior to spending any time and cash on building a product until you have solid confirmed there is a market.

The number two reason is lack of understanding of the basics of business.

A significant proportion of people starting a company know their trade, how to offer a service or make a product, but not how to run a business.  Having the ability to read and follow the balances in the Income statement or the balance sheet is an essential skill. The basic knowledge of accounting is rarely imparted well by the business publications, internet resources and those in the know such as CPAs and bookkeepers. Vendors such as Sage software and Intuit aggressively fool business managers with their messaging that their software are the cure for all ills.
