Remember the theme song from the Rocky movie, “The Eye of the Tiger”?

When Rocky fought his opponent he had the focus of ‘the eye of the tiger’. When that song was written they couldn’t have had any idea the significance it would take on when a new Tiger took the world stage and changed sports forever.

I don’t care if you are a golf fan or a sports fan or if you think there is too much hype over this one particular athlete-yes golfers are athletes.

Tiger Woods is a force to be reckoned with. I could write a book about not only his accomplishments in the sports world, but also his accomplishments as a human being, but many books have already been written. In fact I wrote about Tiger in my book, “Breakthrough to Success.”

Look at what Tiger does in terms of how you live your life. Could you stand up to the level of excellence that Tiger requires of himself? If you raised your expectations, do you think you would be performing head and shoulders above your competition?

I’ve always been a huge fan of his because not only is he a consummate professional, he has such intense focus that you can see it on his face when you watch him on TV. I have also had the pleasure of standing just a few feet from him on more than one occasion and watching that focus in person.

The size of classes is a popular discussion these days and all of the positives seem to go to smaller classes. Smaller classes give the teachers a better chance of getting to know the students and to see when they aren’t fully grasping some aspect of the skill they are attempting to learn.

All students work at different speeds and dance students are no different to other pupils. A small class not only gives the teacher a better opportunity to cater for their pupil’s needs, but a chance to keep everyone learning at the same speed.

Large classes tend to make many children feel as though they don’t exist. This can often lead to them competing for attention. Dance is about creativity and self expression and if a child can’t feel comfortable and understood by their teacher and peers their dancing will suffer. It is always a shame when a young person’s creativity suffers because of a poor choice in school. This can lead to other difficulties and a loss of confidence.

Good quality dance schools have smaller classes, for all of the reasons outlined so far. Small classes are best for young people and help them achieve the heights in creativity they desire. There are a number of obvious advantages of smaller classes.

The security: A young person needs the security of a small class. The atmosphere is more like that that they will experience at home and this helps them to feel relaxed and makes learning more efficient.

Derek Jeter

Derek Jeter was born in June of 1974 in Pequannok, New Jersey. His family later relocated to Michigan, where Jeter played high school baseball and basketball in Kalamazoo. Jeter went on to become the sixth overall pick in the first round of the draft when he was chosen by the New York Yankees in 1996.

He quickly began to establish himself as one of the top players in his league. He was awarded Rookie of the Year in his first season with the Yankees. He continued to show improvement each year at the plate and delivered outstanding fielding in his shortstop position. He was the first rookie in 34 years to start with the Yankee as shortstop during the first season. Derek Jeter has become one of modern baseball’s most recognized names.

Jeter helped propel the Yankees toward a World Series win against the Atlanta Braves in 1995. The following year, he had five hits and five runs scored during the 1996 World Series. Though the team did not make it to the World Series in 1997, Jeter batted .291 with 70 RBIs and 10 home runs. Jeter had achieved celebrity status by the 1998 season, which he ended with a .324 batting average, 19 home runs, 84 RBIs and 203 hits. He was the leagues high scorer with a total of 127 runs.
